Steve Jobs talked about the shortage in a statement, "We appreciate the patience and they are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone". When announced in January, Wall Street analysts projected the iPad only sell anywhere 175,000 to 778,000 units per month. You can bet that Steven Jobs is excited to prove them wrong.
While the iPad arrived in stores in April, technically, can be requested as soon as March 12 in the United States. That was eleven weeks ago. Apple numbers break to show that these eleven weeks 181,818 iPads sold per week. If remain for the rest of the year 2010, the company will sell more than 7.6 million Tablet PC computers.
But could this number grow yet bigger? Insurance! Now that sales have been expanded to other countries, with nine countries more, added in July, and even more later in the year, sales must be much higher. Apple is not unrelated to this type of sales numbers. Last summer, the iPhone 3GS sold over a million units in the three first days were in the market.
